Take the stress out of your big day by prepping with a bridal hair and makeup trial. Our weddings are our most photographed days of our lives, and much like the wedding dress, it’s best to test your bridal hair and makeup look for the first time before your big day. Through an in-depth hair and makeup consultation, we’ll explore your personal style and discover which looks are most suitable for you. We’ll test out several looks and determine which look is the one!

— Engagement Session —

Engagement photo sessions are offered with most wedding photography packages. It’s a wonderful opportunity to capture this time of your season of engagement. Most of us have never been in front of a professional camera and it can feel awkward and uncomfortable. You may want to consider getting your hair and makeup professionally done for a boost of confidence by looking your best. It’s also important to understand that our faces benefit from creating natural looking shadows and definition so we don’t look “flat” in photos. WHERE AND WHEN CAN I HAVE MY TRIAL?

The hair and makeup trial, as well as the engagement shoot appointment, is held in a private makeup studio located in Lower Manhattan. All hair and makeup services are currently held on weekends only until further notice as of Summer 2023. Pre-wedding appointment dates are released on a rolling basis.

CAN I BOOK THE TRIAL ON THE DAY OF MY ENGAGEMENT SHOOT?

Absolutely! Feel free to coordinate your trial appointment on the same day as your engagement session. If you’d like to make any adjustments to your hair and makeup for your engagement shoot, we may need to schedule additional time on top of the wedding trial. Additional fees apply. Please note that appointments are held on select weekends only until further notice as of Summer of 2023.

HOW LONG DO APPOINTMENTS TAKE?

Trial appointments take 3 hours for hair and makeup. We will spend our time together creating the perfect look for you by testing multiple styles. The engagement session hair and makeup appointment takes 2 -3 hours.

CAN I TRY DIFFERENT LOOKS?

Yes! We encourage you to try one updo and one down-style at the trial. Keep in mind, each hairstyle requires different hair prep — choose one main style and an alternate style to test out. For makeup, we will work on creating a natural look first, then build the intensity to your liking. We will take photos for you to reference after the trial.

IS THE TRIAL FEE INCLUDED IN MY BRIDAL PACKAGE?

A discount on the trial is offered for those booking a wedding day package ahead of the trial appointment.
